Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City are set to launch an exciting and innovative event that combines sustainability with a dose of fun and excitement. The inaugural Westfield Good Festival will take place simultaneously at both London centers from May 26th to June 4th, 2023. The festival aims to educate and inspire visitors of all ages on their sustainability journey, offering a range of interactive events, hands-on experiences, and product showcases that encourage sustainable shopping and making a positive impact on the environment.

In an era where consumers are increasingly concerned about the environmental consequences of their purchases, Westfield, in collaboration with brands and organizations dedicated to sustainability, aims to demonstrate how individuals can take positive steps towards supporting a more sustainable future in an engaging and interactive way.

The centerpiece of the Westfield Good Festival is the Sustainable Studio, an immersive space that brings together three curated experiences: The Mindful Market, Gastronomy For Good, and Local + Lo-Fi. Each world offers a unique set of activities and experiences designed to inspire and educate attendees on sustainable living practices.

The Mindful Market is a fashion lover's paradise, offering a shopping experience like no other. Gone are the days of mindless retail routines as visitors are invited to embrace a new way of shopping that is kinder to the planet. The Mindful Market features a range of sustainable fashion partners, including Verte, a London-based clothes-swapping brand. Verte aims to slow down the environmental impact of fashion by extending the lifespan of clothes. Visitors can bring their own items to swap and receive corresponding tokens, which can be used as currency to shop the curated collection. Lone Design Club presents "The Glass House," a pop-up experience showcasing young and innovative sustainable fashion and lifestyle brands. Alongside the retail offerings, the Mindful Market will host workshops, talks, and styling sessions to educate and inspire conscious shopping.

Gastronomy For Good is a food lover's dream come true, with a rotating food program that highlights the latest sustainable food trends. This innovative space features hydroponic Farmstands, where visitors can learn about growing their own produce at home and play a part in the fight against food waste. The program includes talks on good consumption and reimagining food, as well as workshops focused on the benefits of growing food from scraps.

Local + Lo-Fi is the entertainment hub of the festival, celebrating local talent and minimizing technological footprints. The space offers live music performances, workshops for kids, and a range of locally sourced experiences. From hands-on crafts to exploring the wormery at Westfield London's Nature Reserve, visitors can enjoy entertainment that supports the local creative community and embraces sustainability.

The Sustainable Studio, at the heart of the festival, hosts a series of revolving partners who contribute to the immersive experience. VAMP Sneaker Cleaning workshops explore the intersection of the sneaker industry and sustainability, providing tips and tricks for keeping sneakers clean and looking their best. Sophie Hird leads an upcycling workshop at Westfield Stratford City, where participants learn how to transform football jerseys into vibrant upcycled cardholders. At Westfield London, Lydia Bolton offers various upcycling workshops, teaching visitors how to mend, embellish, and breathe new life into old clothing.

The Westfield Good Festival places sustainability at the core of its design, using recycled and repurposed materials throughout the event. Collaborating with suppliers who share their commitment to sustainability, Westfield prioritizes conscious consumption of resources. A post-project report will measure the impact of the festival, providing transparency and informing future sustainability targets.

The Westfield Good Festival is free and open to all visitors from May 26th to June 4th. Attendees can explore participating brands, enjoy the full program of events, and reserve tickets for special events on Eventbrite.
